Fellowship Church's Comprehensive Missions Plan
We believe the mission that our Lord Jesus gave the church 2000 years ago still holds today. The mission entails: a) be "witnesses", that is, to testify to the truth about Jesus Christ and give evidence through our character, love, values, deeds, proclamation, etc.; and, b) influence and desire to reach the local community, the surrounding regions, and the whole world!
This mission is for the church universal. No single local church can possibly accomplish this mission alone. However, each local church should take an active part in helping to fulfill this mission. At Fellowship, it has always been our desire and our spirit to actively pursue the Great Commission. The zeal and sacrifice for reaching "every nation in our generation" has led ones to sacrifice job opportunities, the finer luxuries of life, sleep, time, money, etc. It has greatly influenced where ones lived, their long-term goals, etc. We must strive to keep and increase this zeal!
We must also have plans. These plans should include our local community, our surrounding regions, and places far from us. Our “Comprehensive Missions Plan” is how we answer the above question.
Our Vision For Reaching Our Jerusalem :: TAMU/BCS
- Keep as our primary focus (not our sole focus) the undergraduate college student ministry.
- Grow up mature disciples who will multiply their lives into others.
- Multiply homegroups and outreach groups throughout B/CS.
- Offer Christ-centered “praise and Bible instruction” Sunday meetings.
- Evangelize through various corporate and individual means including literature distributions, special events, “cold calls”, relationships, open-air preaching, etc.
- Serve the community and the A&M campus through church-based and homegroup-based projects and through cooperation with various local compassion ministries.
- Raise up many full-time and bi-vocational workers for the gospel to minister to the people of this area.
Our Vision For Reaching Our “Judea and Samaria”: U. S., but outside of TAMU & B/CS
- Start and coach new “great commission minded” churches. (With a priority on campus-based options)
- Train and send thousands of members to strengthen other churches. (most graduates move on)
- Cooperate with and encourage GCMC and GCC in growing healthy churches and stepping out in U.S. missions and church plant projects.
- Raise up numerous full-time workers and sacrificial volunteers to send out on church plant teams.
Our Vision For Reaching The Ends of the Earth: Outside of U.S.
- Establish Missions Partnerships to focus our efforts and resources.
Currently: Monterrey, Mexico; Turin, Italy; East Asia Project; H.E.L.P. - Grow a strong international student outreach that reaches the primary people groups here at A&M.
- Plant (or help plant) “great commission minded” churches in foreign countries. (on every continent)
- Train and send internationals and Americans to strengthen foreign churches.
- Send out multiple short-term missions teams annually.
- Raise up one year and long-term missionaries, and internationals for the gospel.
- Cooperate with GCM and GC Global Fellowship in international missions.
- Support missionaries and foreign sister churches with finances, prayer, encouragement, & other resources. (e.g. active “Barnabas Teams” )
- Support international compassion ministries and efforts. (e.g. Samaritan’s Purse, Compassion International, H.E.L.P.)
